Have You Ever Seen The Rain ~ Sass Jordan; Get What You Give
Переглядів 73 тис.11 років тому
Sass Jordan's studio cover of Creedence Clearwater Revival's "Have You Ever Seen The Rain?" Jordan's gravelly voice is not unlike Fogerty's, but her approach to this classic song is bluesy, sultry and, well, sassy. A complete departure from any other I've heard. Love the dobro!
Chick Corea ~ What Child is This?
Переглядів 8 тис.11 років тому
I'm an ambivalently big fan of Chick Corea. When he's in a particular kind of groove I absolutely love him. And with this rendition of the Christmas classic, "What Child is This?" he's grooving on a major glide. Even Corea's forays into dissonant tonalities serve to sweeten a most delicious melody. You'll find this on the Christmas collection, "Jazz to the World" which is like a Christmas tree ...

Mother of Violence ~ Peter Gabriel ~ Scratch (2nd Solo LP)

I'm publishing this song in support of a series of posts about fear, its affects on us personally, in groups and as nations and peoples. It's one of my favourite songs, not just on the subject of fear, but for the beauty of its composition and Gabriel's vocal performance. To see how this song fits in with the topic of fear, visit the Peace Signs FB page @ PeaceSigns
The Night Inside Me ~ Jackson Browne -- Solo Acoustic Vol. 2
Переглядів 24 тис.12 років тому
Jackson Browne is one of those performers with a gentle, engaging stage presence ... you feel as though your sitting around a fire, or gathered in a living room to shoot the shit and just enjoy each other's company, maybe play a few songs. Jackson is a warm, welcoming soul, an unparalleled song smith, an engaging performer.
Don't Drink The Water ~ Dave Matthews & Tim Reynolds - Live at Radio City
Переглядів 4,5 тис.12 років тому
In full flight with his band, especially in a live setting, this song is delivered with a power, a force, that is as much a phenomenon of the mass frenzy that is a DMB concert as the ability of the entire band to let it all hang out on stage. Which makes the essential power of this live rendition, featuring just two guitar's and Dave's evocative voice, all the more astounding. How can just two ...

I was driving to work in Tampa, FL, back in the summer of 1994 when a heard this song for the first time. I had to stop the car to pay attention to this musical jewel. When I got to the office I called the station to find out who was singing... they gave me the info and that very same day I went to purchase Islands. Since then, I listened to this album thousands of times & it always, always, makes me happy :)

Not sure about billions but many people, sure. ignoring God and pretending we can do what we want is what lead sodom and Gomorrah to destruction. Including following false prophets like muhammad.

Caught the threesome with Bozzio on drums live in '79 or '80. They were the warmup band for Jethro Tull, and quite a few Tull fans didn't bother coming for the UK show. My roommate and I scuttled down out of the stadium seats and found a couple on the floor, 10th row centre. The bass for Alaska was spectacular. I could feel my organs vibrating against each other inside my body. Still one of my favourite shows, ever. Tull was pretty good, too. ;)
